I graduated from the University of Cape Town with an MMed in Psychiatry (2019). Before qualifying in psychiatry, I had wide-ranging exposure to different aspects of healthcare, including family medicine, emergency medicine, leadership and management in healthcare, quality improvement project management, research ethics, and public health and epidemiology.

While working in academia and the public health field, I maintained practical experience as medical doctor in Canada and South Africa working in family medicine and emergency medicine.

I obtained my medical degree, MB ChB, in 2004 from the University of the Free State and a M Phil (Applied Bioethics) from Stellenbosch University in 2007. 

I have a special interest in the psychodynamic and cognitive processes underlying mental health with particular appreciation for depth psychology and the role of spirituality in mental wellbeing.
